Got a spare tank sitting around? Want to trade/sell?

Post by ericpkeith on Fri Jan 16, 2015 12:21 am

So who got Jimmy's (Sisterlimonpot) 72 Gallon Bow Front? That so had my name on it...if I was paying attention. . It seems Sisterlimonpot (Jimmy) is gone out of the hobby but once you have the taste, it's hard to really say "never again..."

Anyway, I've been tooling around with my JBJ 28 gallon AIO and it's just getting too overgrown. I'm looking for a 50-gallon tank (or larger), preferably a cube or tall. I can't go over 32 inches long and more then 24 inches in depth as it will go in the corner that the JBJ currently occupies. I've seen lots of stuff on Craigslist that will work but nothing decent up here in Ventura or SB. I frankly don't want to schlep down to O.C. with my truck during traffic hour.

I can pay cash but I'm hoping to trade and/or cash so keep my costs down. I try not to spend big money on this hobby anymore as I've already squandered more money away in the past 15 years than I care to add up, kind of like my Starbucks tab.

I don't need a stand, as I can build one, and I don't need pumps or skimmers - unless you want to throw them into the deal! It's got to be reef-ready with a built-in overflow and include the bulk-head fittings.

    What I've got for trade:
Alton 3.5 HP Air Compressor (same as coleman/craftsman/Campbell Hausfeld),  11 gallon compressor, 120 VAC, horizontal. It's better than the Harbor Freight variety and you won't find with such a large tank. I bought it at Costco years ago; similar compressors of this size run $200+
Harbor freight Faming nailer, 21 degree, clipped head. Have lots and lots of nails. Used it to frame my two-story shed and frame up a walk-in closet. Works flawlessly.

    Eric.

Eric, Jimmy didn't get out of the hobby. He just moved out of California. I might know the guy that bought it from hi though.

Glad to hear he's still in it. I understand the moving part. I had to move to Colorado for a transfer and was forced to sell what I could and give the rest away.

Actually, I found a tank on Craigslist that I'm going to pick up tomorrow. I'm going to be parting out some things I don't need and may post here...and/or Ebay.

Sorry, I probably would have jumped on that as the dimensions are prefect. However, this Saturday morning I jumped on 60 gallon reef-ready tank in the SF Valley. Now I'm parting stuff out I don't need such as the chiller, which I'll be posting here.
