    OT Chili from the BBQ

Post by dwolson2 on Mon Feb 27, 2012 4:04 pm

Nikecivic, what did you put in that chili?
Those be forewarned, you can’t use his own chili against him if we ever have a cook off.

That said, that chili was SPICY! There was some left and I took it with to work for lunch, my whole mouth is on fire and my nose won’t stop running(still finishing the last of it)

definitely some good chili. I had some at the party. Also, don't think I thanked you yet, so... thanks dwolson2 for hosting the party at your house!

Haha thanks, I used to make it every week practicing for the chili cook off! I didn't know if you guys like it spicy...I could always tone it down.

    a few recipe hints:

*slow cook the meat for 4-6 hours with red wine vinegar
*meat used ground beef, cubed beef roast and bacon
*use a dark beer i.e. guiness
*added cocoa powder and brown sugar
*spices used: cumin, cayenne pepper, chipotle powder, hot chili powder, ground oregano, dried oregano, sea salt and pepper
*used red kidney beans, white kidney beans and black beans

Brent, I want to come out to the SFVR meeting but I may have to go out of town. I think we should have a Chili Cook Off between SFVR and MASVC! By the way, if anyone wants the recipe just pm me.

Yea it does. I'm doing 4 weeks in Portland and 2 weeks at home to catch up on my Honey do list befoer I go again. Headed up Monday to be in the snow. Guess a snow storm is coming in this week up there. Really SUX!

But I'm trying to order up some supplies to redo my pumps/plumbing/lights for when I get a chance. Hopefully after that, tank will be headed back down the road of where it was in it's prime.
