Aqua Style Led Kit for Biocube 14

Post by reefer87 on Sat 03 Mar 2012, 1:56 pm

Ok guys here we go. I was orginally looking in to the rapid led kit for the biocube 14 and expecting to spend around $200 dollars +shipping for the kit. After a few more weeks of surfing the internet I found on aquastyleonline.com, and found they had a really similar kit for a 1/4 of the price. List price is $50 after shipping it was $89. cheers

Included in Kit: 5 blue leds, 5 10k leds, 2 uv leds, plenty of wire, driver, wall plug, heat sink, thermal adhesive and 2 spare leds.

Marked the mounting post with white and red spots.

Had to trim the fan shroud to fit the heat sink.

marked and cut the heat sink to fit.

    Templete to drill for mounting.

    Drilled holes.

    Trying to decide my layout.

    Glued and mounted to hood.

    Wired.

You guys will get to see it on Monday at the meeting. Hope it lights up the frag tank nice.

CAUTION: I AM NOT RESONSIBLE FOR YOU GOING BLIND IF YOU LOOK AT THE LIGHTS FOR TO LONG. THESE THINGS ARE REALLY BRIGHT.

Nice, does the driver allow you to dim the LED's?

No it's not dimmable. The dimmable kit was a little bit more. I can always add on later.

It took me about 2 hours. Plus I took it all apart to install fans so 3 hours in all. I will post lighted pics in a little while.

Very blue, I like that. How far above the water did you have it over the 60 for the picture?
