I don't know a lot about these. What do you use them for?

But what's the benefit over say chaeto? could I put these in with the chaeto? do you plant them? are they invasive? do fish eat them?

I think they pull more phosphates and nitrates than cheato, but not sure. They are not invasive to my knowledge, fish dont eat them and you can just stick them in your sump or you can plant them in LS or LR. They need to be sprayed with fresh water every so often, and made sure that the leaves dont fall in the water

They will also absorb calcium out of the water away from corals (supposedly) I haven't seen any changes in calcium levels when I experimented with them. But yes live rock or sand. You yes can put them with the cheato it'll look pretty cool the cheato will provide a conopy on the surface of the water and as you look under you'll see the stems of the mangroves throw a madarin goby and some peppermint shrimp in it'll look pretty sweet!

Funny thing is, they actually grow better in fresh water. Go figure.

where are you located and how do they reproduce? I won't be back until the end of the month, but I would be interested in trying one.

the pods that you get to put in your tank are the seeds. They reproduce by dropping seeds into the water where they can then take root.
